Mabuhay Ka, Pilipino

Arrangement of “Mabuhay Ka Pilipino” as sung by different choirs. I wrote this arrangement as a commissioned piece by the Development Bank of the Philippines way back in the 90’s. The following youtube video is by the Himig Singers in a performance at St. Brendan’s Church, Los Angeles. For more information about the group, go to http://himigsingers.org . I think they are a superb choir!

Here’s another version of the same song sung by the DLSU Chorale, with conductor Liaa Ambrosio-Patag of the Philippine Madrigal Singers.

Here’s another version by another group called the SMA-P Glee Club with mr. rodolfo delarmente and charles, mark, and jb from dlsu chorale:

There are more groups performing this on youtube but this is going to be such a long posting if I linked them all here.

  1. Sir Nhick, thank you so much for your contribution to the country. This song gives me the chills every time I listen to it. Sir, we are going to sing this song this June 14, 2015 to celebrate the Independence Day Anniversary. I hope you dont mind, but can I please have your music sheet for the SATB? We would love to attempt to perform this song for that event. If you can please email me po the music sheet, my email is george.alayon(at)ctplc.com. If you have a fee for this, I dont mind paying you po. I really just want to do this song for my community here in Bermuda. Thanks so much

  2. Hi George, thank you for your comment. Unfortunately, I don’t have a copy of that arrangement here in the US with me. Please inquire at the UP College of Music Library if they have a copy. -Nhick
