Celebrate Christmas with the Philippine Cultural Foundation, Inc. at the Bayanihan Arts and Events Center on Sunday, December 13, 2009 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM. For only $3.00 per person (and free for children 7 and under). At this event, one gets to experience the Christmas holiday, Philippine style. “Pasko”, meaning “Christmas” in Filipino, is perhaps the most celebrated of all the Philippine holidays. Religious in nature, “Pasko” is marked by “Misa de Gallo” (Rooster Mass), a nine-day morning mass starting on the 16th of December, culminating in a Midnight Mass on the 24th. Although religious in function, these masses are accompanied by festivals, parties, gift-giving, and of course, shopping.

It is this very nature of the Philippine Christmas holidays that the Philippine Cultural Foundation, Inc. in Tampa, Florida is trying to capture in this event. There will be non-stop entertainment by local talents including the Philippine Performing Arts Company, Inc., Musikong Kawayan Bamboo Ensemble, Philippine Choral Group, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Ladies’ Choir and many more. There will also be Philippine food festival, games and caroling. This year’s “Pasko” is made possible with the help of the Bicol Association of Southern Florida and the Philippine Choral Group.
